The moment we have been preparing and organizing these past few months, has finally come. Today was our very first proposal presentation to a big company, and the fact that it is already accomplished is certainly satisfying.
The time and dedication put into this single presentation is something extremely overwhelming and impacting for all of us; the need to go through numerous trials and stages, in order to actually conquer our final goal, was very time consuming. Although, the process of this preparation was a load of work, the outcome made every second worth spending.
I must admit, it was a struggle to actually contact and make appointments with these companies, most of them had occupied schedules, not providing any appropriate spaces for us to fill. After going through our list of companies we were finally able to book a meeting with Decor Center, we confirmed immediately, and marked our schedules. Decor Center was one of our top companies on our list and it was a huge leap for us to present to them right away. The person we contacted was the head of marketing (Katerina), and she told us the presentation would only be presented to her. The fact of having to present to only one person wasn't part of our expectations, and although this didn't go as planned, it didn't affect the presentation in any way.
At first we had rehearsed the keynote as something formal, with the need of assigned topics and notes, but due to this recent modification, it actually turned out as a streaming conversation, making the proposal friendly and casual.
I must say the "presentation" resulted great; Katerina seemed very interested and loved the fact that it was more than just a simple donation. By mentioning the various ways in which the company could help with the growth of Kantaya, such as volunteering or providing professional resources, we noticed it was something that truly caught her attention.

Having this informal, yet effective meeting helped us gather further experience for our future presentations in the long run of our project. It also turned out extremely beneficial for Kantaya, due to the interest and curiosity of our audience, when delivering our many ideas and facts. I definitely consider this as a great start and step that will open new doors, not only for Kantaya's benefit, but for our daily lives as well. Having such a productive and positive beginning is a great sign of success, motivating us in doing the same on our future proposals.
