As I delve deeper into the background research I realized that having a variety of themes within a portfolio isn't a must. Some say having these themes gives the audience a greater overview of your capacity, creativity and skills. While others say choosing and developing one main style throughout the portfolio allows there to be consistency and in-depth material.
The truth is, it took me a decent amount of time to choose between these two portfolio structures. Which one would be the most effective? Which would suite me the best? Gladly I came up with a final decision. Before coming to a consensus I focused on defining my purpose. What was the main message I wished to deliver through my portfolio?
As I asked myself this, I came up with a solid purpose and vision that would communicate my idea purposefully.

"The ability to help communities and societies value their culture is another way that fashion design intertwines with life. Fashion has the capacity to empower communities to value themselves. Usually looking abroad for modern trends in Paris and Milan, we have neglected the ability to appreciate the unique style each community portrays. Embracing traditions and styles is another reason why fashion is my passion, as it will allow me to reconnect people to their own heritage."
With this, I now had a clear vision of what my objective was through the construction of my portfolio. I will create sketches and clothing pieces based entirely on Peruvian culture; seeking inspirations from these traditional wardrobes, I will hopefully develop this "collection" with success.
