Well, even though setting all these accomplishments is a great source of motivation that might actually lead to successful results, I question myself: “How committed have I been, in order to make all these statements come true?” This is when I began thinking deeply. Over the past 4-5 years I have encouraged myself in setting different accomplishments, such as “Being less of a procrastinator” or “Learning how to be more organized”, hoping that in some way they will be solved and soon be out of my way. But the truth is, these motivational goals are out of our minds not even two weeks into the school year, and by the time you know it, you’re making the same mistakes all over again.
Returning to school as a junior this year, was a very different experience for me, I knew that this year was definitely going to be the most challenging and there was no room for procrastination. I came back to school with the perspective of actually committing to my goals and not letting my usual “routine” take over my actions. I don’t necessarily plan on setting super high standards all at once, but slowly taking responsible steps will eventually lead me in accomplishing all my goals, and hopefully end the school year the right way.
